Character History: Through his youth, Daimon Suguru always put on a show of toughness. As he grew older, he began acting out and becoming more and more brash, and tended to act like a hooligan, which disappointed his father. This continued into high school, and it eventually reached the point where he was in danger of being expelled. However, his father's health eventually turned towards the worse. Before the man died, he finally succeeded in passing on the philosophy of his life his son – as well as a tag that had been passed on to Suguru's father by his own father, who had served in the Japanese military.

After mourning his father, Suguru resolved to be a man his late father could be proud of, and that he'd use his fists honorably. Suguru took an interest in physics and computer science, and eventually turned his grades around enough to enter college.

In college, Suguru excelled, and he found his disciplines gave him a strong inclination towards theoretical science. Before graduating, he met his future wife, Daimon Sayuri, and before long, the two developed an attraction towards one another. After leaving school, he became involved in research that would lead to the discovery of the Digital World. He and Sayuri married, and Suguru became the head of his research team. This attracted the envy of the man who would become his new assistant, Akihiro Kurata. His discoveries earned Suguru prestige, as well as the title of “professor.”

When people began disappearing into the Digital World, Suguru was brought onto the exploration team that was determined to discover the fate of these missing people. He left his family, intending to return. In the process, he passed the tag that his father had given him onto his son.

In the Digital World, he took an interest in all the new forms of life that were waiting to be discovered. However, his colleague, Kurata, saw the Digimon as dangerous. Suguru put down Kurata's violent intentions, which earned him the man's increased animosity. The group suffered more hardships and more digimon attacks, and it was ultimately Suguru who took charge and led them through their trials. Eventually, they arrived at the Infinite Ice Ridge, where they found themselves attacked by SaberLeomon. Suguru awakened his Digi-Soul and fought off the Ultimate-level digimon, giving his friends enough time to escape back to the Human World.

Immediately after, Suguru encountered Mercurimon, and the two battled one another. However, they eventually realized they were not enemies, and ceased their fighting. The two came to an understanding, and entered into an alliance. Suguru decided to remain in the Digital World and try to find a way of fostering peace with the Human World. Suguru then began wandering the two worlds, and in his travels, he encountered BanchouLeomon – a powerful and proud digimon. The two of them battled one another to a standstill, but later, resolved to become friends. Suguru became BanchouLeomon's partner, and together they sought Yggdrasil, as Suguru had been instructed by Mercurimon.

They did not find Yggdrasil – not at first, anyway – but his servant, the Royal Knight Craniummon. Using Suguru's new digivice, the Digivice Burst, he powered BanchouLeomon up to defeat the Royal Knight. This earned them Yggdrasil's notice. Yggdrasil allowed Suguru to stay with him, but did not make a decision regarding humanity... until Kurata attacked the Digital World. He made Suguru his prisoner, and when Kurata killed Mercurimon years later, the god of the Digital World ordered Suguru to be executed. BanchouLeomon attempted to trick Yggdrasil by attempting to kill Suguru himself, but in reality, he took the man's soul into his own body. Yggdrasil didn't fall for it, and possessed Suguru's body himself, holding it hostage.

BanchouLeomon, now a combination of Suguru and his partner, tried to secretly aid Masaru and his friends, who had come to oppose Kurata's new ambition to wipe out Digimon. BanchouLeomon could not aid them directly, but only give them advice and the means to grow more powerful. They defeated Kurata, but not before the madman ripped a hole in the barrier between worlds, which threated both worlds with destruction. BanchouLeomon made a sacrifice, and physically held the two worlds apart, instructing Masaru and his friends to seek Yggdrasil. Yggdrasil, however, resolved to destroy all of the Human World, and it seemed his sacrifice would be in vain... until Craniummon turned against his master, and took BanchouLeomon's place holding the two worlds apart.

BanchouLeomon joined the struggle against Yggdrasil, and revealed his past to Masaru. He then made another sacrifice, by holding Yggdrasil, who still possessed Suguru's old body, still, allowing Masaru to attack them both. Suguru and BanchouLeomon were destroyed, but Yggdrasil emerged unscathed... in his true form. Ultimately, Masaru and his friends defeated Yggdrasil, and in response, it brought Suguru back to life. With a new lease on life, Suguru returned to his family, and became content to live a normal life.

But then, he found himself pulled into a new Digital World. There, he was reunited with BanchouLeomon, who had been reborn as Leormon.

Suguru Personality: Suguru is what one might call “the definitive man.” He's incorruptible, strong, proud, intelligence, and loyal. He also believes that with strength and resolve, a man can accomplish anything. He is also protective of his children, and devoted to his family. If you had to pick out his greatest flaw, it would most likely be his self sacrificing nature. He is also somewhat confrontational when facing a new opponent, as he believes the key to getting an enemy to understand him is through direct combat or through the passionate declaration of ideals. This has proven to be more successful on like-minded individuals than it does on beings like Kurata.

Leormon Personality: As BanchouLeomon, Leormon was almost a direct mirror of Suguru. As Leormon, he is somewhat more childish, hot headed, and petulant. With his bratty personality, he is prone to acting mischievously, and is known to teach other digimon like Kudamon, Suguru's partner. But when he evolves, he becomes more mature and like his original self. Sometimes, this side of him will appear in his Child form... but this only happens rarely.

Suguru Abilities: Suguru's has impressive physical skill. He is an accomplished brawler, and is unrelenting in a fight. His command over his Digi-Soul is flawless, and he can use it to fight stronger opponents.

Leormon Abilities: Leormon is an unpredictable and ferocious fighter. His main Special Attack is Leo Claw, where he swipes with his fore-claws. His strongest attack, however, is Critical Bite, where he attacks his enemy's weak-point with his teeth. As Liomon, he mirrors this attack with his Critical Strike Special Attack, where he attacks his enemy's vital point with his teeth or claws. He also has an attack called Thunder of Kings, where he releases a burst of static electricity from his mane.
